Isaac Gallman

Isaac is a rare native of the Asheville area and has worked and lived in the area throughout his life. After working in wilderness therapy, he says he was drawn to working at Black Mountain Academy because the “ focus on the autism spectrum and neurologically diverse was really appealing to me. I’ve worked with those clients before and I always found myself enjoying myself more within that population. The opportunity for young people with autism to be at a school like BMA that can give them the assistance and tools they need for success later in life is limited. I am very happy to be at BMA working with its clients and giving them some of those tools.” Isaac loves going on after-school outings and having fun with the students and connects with the students by playing board games and outdoor games.

When Isaac is not at work he enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, foraging, yard games, board games, puzzles with his partner, painting, video games, reading, and cooking. An avid outdoorsman, Isaac through hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2017 and the Pacific Crest Trail in 2022.
