Sunita was born in theĀ great city of Chicago and grew up in nearby Northwest Indiana. After graduating from Loyola University of Chicago with a B.A. in History and a minor in African-American Studies, she earned a Master of Arts in the Teaching of English from Teachers College, Columbia University. She brings over two decades of experience teaching students of all ages, from middle school through college, along with several years as an editor in educational publishing, specializing in standardized tests and textbooks.
Sunita enjoys a beautiful and unexciting life in western North Carolina. Her passions include cooking vegetarian cuisine, hiking with her life partner and their two hounds, reading books, accumulating books, philosophizing, attempting to complete New Yorker crossword puzzles, and chronically revising her novel.
